Trek For Trout!
On May 17th, 2025, a one-day partnership event, Trek for Trout, will be held to support Brook Trout Conservation in the Adirondacks! Trout Unlimited will be partnering with DEC, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, Trout Power, Native Fish Coalition, Paul Smith’s College, and SUNY ESF to post signs at up to 400 brook trout ponds as part of a citizen science initiative to collect angler data and protect these fisheries. Once posted, these signs will provide DEC with important angler information and protect brook trout ponds by reminding anglers that the use of baitfish is prohibited. As a volunteer, you will be making a major contribution to conserving this prized resource. This event is being held on one day only, rain or shine, so don’t miss out on this unique opportunity!
